10bii Financial Calculator App Reviews
its the real thing
just like my real HP 10BII. I love it.
great lil app
Even better than the desk top calculator b/c it shows the values stored for TVM calcs
Very Nice desktop edition of the iPhone financial calculator app. Simple to use, nice large size, easy to increase decimal places. Works like my old HP 10B, that I paid $110 for back in 2001.
I am a hard money lender and buy & sell notes secured by mortgages/deeds of trusts and use this superb application daily. I also teach note investing for the Delaware Real Estate Investors Association (DelREIA) and use it to teach those I mentor. It is so much better than the hand held calculator and I love the ability to print amortization schedules!!
Best financial calculator Ive found
Works just like my HP, but better! Love the amortization schedules, especially.
Really like the cashflow graph! Good visual to help understand which way the moneys going. The Amort schedule is awesome too. I like being able to pick a loan origination date. Now I can send to my clients right from my calc! Thanks!
There are already a number of good applications that address the problem of getting out of DEBT as fast as possilbe. Some of those apps are probably EASIER to use IF youre dealing with many cards at various interest rates AND are going to follow the strategy every month until theyre all paid-off. So, what does THIS app bring to the table? 1. It is more flexible; it can handle uneven cash flows. 2. It makes it easier to spot BAD DEALS and hopefully AVOID them altogether. 3. The cost of making just MINIMUM PAYMENTS becomes obvious (without digging through your statements) to find out that it would take 64 YEARS to pay off the balance! (as but one real example) 4. There are MANY other functions available (something like 105), but I havent gotten to them yet. Ive mostly been using the TVM (Time Value of Money) functions so far. This calculator uses ALGEBRAIC NOTATION; I was used to Reverse Polish Notation, but thats a simple adjustment to make. The HELP videos look to be good, but I also downloaded the actual USERS GUIDE PDF from HP for the hardware version of the HP 10BII (not EXACTLY the same per the website, but helpful for some of the more obscure financial and statistical operations AND you get to see the formulas used in the calculations)
Missing Tape Function
This is a great app. But the MAC version needs the tape function provided with the IPAD app. The tape function take the app. to another level.
I use an HP 12C, but this app is so much nicer to use. I really appreciate the ability to see the amounts entered in the TVM mode. The extra large size is also fun to use. Thanks!
I’m in commercial real estate and I use this app probably 10 times a day. It’s great. As a finance geek I hate those See Jane Run calculators, like the one built into the OS. So for a few bucks, this was a great addition. Don
This is a faithful recreation of one of the iconic Hewlett Packard Financial calculators, and it is a very good implementation. It’s especially useful for caclulating terms on investments, to determine, for example, what price to pay if you need a particular yield, and many other what-if scenarios dealing with time and money. The app also has some nice features that the HP Calculator didn’t have or couldn’t handle as well. For example, in the app you can bring up an Amoritzation Scheule for a loan which shows up in a new window, and prints nicely as a PDF or exports as a CSV using the “Share” icon at the top right corner of the window on Yosimite. You can also show cash-flow diagrams, open a window to set up un-even cashflows, see statistical summaries in a window, and more. When OS X Yosimite came out, I upgraded and noticed some problems caused in the APP by the new OS. After about a week I contacted the developers who replied the same day, and a new versions was released the next day which is now fully compatible with Yosemite. Thanks Guys. Great App. I use it several times a week.
I’ve used both the older HP10B and the 10B-II. This software version is spot on and has a few nice extras like the ability to visually enter uneven cash flows on a separate window. I needed a financial calculator this evening, but left my trusty 10B-II in my desk drawer at the office. It has an extra “HELP” key at the bottom left, which brings up a page with a multitude of video tutorials as well as readable content too. Great refresher material for somone who rarely uses the more complex functions. Very happy, thanks!
1) No paper tape. A paper tape would really be nice. 2) It comes up REALLY HUGE on the display. While you can resize it, you can’t really make it a reasonably small size. 3) It would be better if it remembered where on the screen (and the size) from the last time that it ran. Now, every time you start the calculator it covers up your work by displaying a ginormous calculator right smack on top of your work in the center of the screen. Otherwise, it is really well done and is quite nice to use. With a bit of polish it would be up to Apple/Mac standards. Right now it feels a bit unpolished compared to an Apple app.
This calculator does just what I want. Easy calculations and/or complex ones. The only issue is I preferred the app when it looked like a calculator and not just a grey screen with numbers on it. Otherwise, it is very good.
